About weight calculation

How do I calculate sheet weight?

Weight (kg) = width (m) × length (m) × thickness (mm) × density (g/cm³). For example, a 1000×2000 mm, 2 mm 304 stainless sheet: 1 × 2 × 2 × 7.93 = 31.72 kg.

What is the density of stainless steel?

About 7.93 g/cm³ for 304 stainless, 7.98 g/cm³ for 316 and 7.70 g/cm³ for 430. Carbon steel is about 7.85 g/cm³ and aluminium 2.70 g/cm³.

How do I calculate tube weight?

The cross-section area of a tube is π × (R² − r²) (R outer, r inner radius), multiplied by length and density. The calculator does this automatically from outer diameter and wall thickness.
